Simply the best ever

What's the talk in the stands?

Sheer disbelief and excitement. "Is this the best result ever?"

Was it a fair result on Saturday?

On the balance of play it was. If either side deserved more it was Blackpool - while Liverpool had half an hour of intense pressure, this was only after they had been given a goal by some bizarre and inept refereeing. A win for Blackpool was the only fair result after they had come to Anfield, taken the game to Liverpool and thoroughly dominated them

Best chant?

"Hansen, Hansen what's the score?"

Funniest moment?

The free kick decision by the referee which led to the Liverpool goal. I am still unsure who was supposed to have been fouled, who was supposed to have done it and indeed what the offence was meant to be. Wearing an away shirt, possibly.

Who were Blackpool's star players?

All of them. It really is invidious to pick out particular names.

Any regrets?

The fact that we didn't wrap it up in the last ten minutes when we had one great chance.

Opposition any good?

Not as bad as people may be saying, but their morale was fragile and Blackpool did the right thing by getting in their faces and dominating from the start. If Liverpool had scored early, or even begun by looking the better team, things might have turned out very different.

What next?

A two week break with a great set of memories to pore over. Then a major challenge at Bloomfield Road. We have already earned as many away points as we could have expected for the whole season, and now it's time to start doing the same at home. City will be a different league, but if we could get something there then we really might begin to think about survival.

Final thoughts?

Simply the best ever. And also credit to the Liverpool supporters, who were friendly and positive throughout, walking to and from the ground and wishing us good luck. A lot of them applauded the Blackpool players and fans afterwards. They were clear that their problems are of their own making (mostly the Americans') and they were full of praise for Blackpool's attitude and performance. Even MOTD2 had good things to say about the Blackpool fans.
