At Chelsea - lets play without fear and entertain the nation

What's the talk in the stands.

To be honest there wasn't much chat before the game - everyone was too busy getting their breath back after climbing up to the top of the world!!

There were the usual raised eyebrows at team selection but Ollie doesn't often get it wrong does he? Where was Kingson by the way?

Was it a fair result on Saturday?

More than fair!! I think that on balance of play Pool shaded the first half with some excellent passing football and spurned a couple of very decent chances. Second half we just couldn't get hold of the ball for about 20 minutes and were really tested at the back with several good chances to Newcastle denied by Gilks.

Best chant?

'DJ Cambell Blackpool's 39' - because he's back, he scored, he loves BFC and we love him!

Funniest moment?

In the car driving home and listening to local Tyneside phone-in programmes. I would be kept in beer for a month if had a fiver for every time someone said 'No disrespect to Blackpool but . . . .' or 'Against teams like Blackpool we ought to . . '

It could be a little bit annoying but I found it funny today with a great big smug smile plastered on my face surrounded my cars filled with stoney-faced Geordies nodding sagely - presumably listening to the same drivel !

Who were Blackpool's star players?

Scotland's Number 1 - Matt Gilks. He had an excellent 2nd half.

I thought Eardley had a very good game. I have in the past been critical of his positioning and his on-field body language but if he can maintain that sort of form he could cement a regular place - good stuff. All 14 played a big part in this superb result.

Any regrets?

I didn't hear a song in support of Gary Parkinson

Opposition any good?

Good in patches particularly second half but got frustrated and lost their discipline in the last 15 mins. Carroll is a handful, but continually jumps at the defender rather than for the ball. Routledge flattered to deceive early on until Crainey pocketed him. Coloccini's challenge on DJ was nasty.

What next?

Continue to bed the new lads in, go to Chelsea with more points banked than we could have hoped, play without fear and entertain the nation. . . keeping our pride and dignity intact.

Final thoughts?

I loved to see the CLUB huddle after the game where all the team, squad, management and backroom staff were waved over to join the group to celebrate the moment. That's what we are all about.

To Gary Parkinson - Get well soon Parky, we're all rooting for you and the lads are playing out of their skins for you.
