Sir Stanley Matthews Foundation Dinner

The Sir Stanley Matthews Foundation, in association with Blackpool FC are
staging a Dinner on Thursday 20th November 2008 to raise awareness of the
Stan Matthews Foundation and as a fund raiser for its activities.

The Foundation was set up in 2000 shortly after Stan's death and it's aims
are to help youngsters achieve through sport.

Youngsters up to the age of 21 can apply to the Foundation for a grant to
assist with the purchase of equipment, coaching fees, course fees etc.

Applications are invited from youngsters of ALL abilities and not just the
elite.

All manner of sports have been given financial assistance in this way, not
just football but athletics, canoeing, archery, tennis, in fact nearly ever
sport imaginable !

The evening promises to be a cracking night's entertainment as I have
invited 5 former Blackpool FC outside right's who all served as an
understudy to Sir Stan.

Jimmy Armfield will be at the Dinner along with Cyril Robinson and a few
other stars of football who all played with Stan.

A four course meal will be served & top class comedian Josh Daniels will be
provide the entertainment.

There will be some excellent raffle and auction prizes on the night as well.

Jean Gough ( Sir Stan's daughter ) will be at the Dinner and will be
bringing her Dad's 1953 FAC final winners medal along with her.

Stan's cup final playing kit will also be there, kindly loaned for the night
from the National Football Museum, so a great photo opportunity exists for
those lucky enough to be present.

Tickets are a bargain £30. Anyone who has been to Bloomfield Rd for one of
these evenings will agree that they are always excellent value for money and
a really good night out.
