Everton full-back Seamus Coleman, strikers Stephen Dobbie from Swansea and DJ Campbell from Leicester, and Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan all impressed in loan spells at Bloomfield Road last term.

Holloway is yet to make a signing as the Tangerines prepare for their first season in the top flight since 1971, although he is believed to be close to capturing Israeli defender Dekel Keinan, who is available on a free transfer from Maccabi Haifa. The 47-year-old told Tangerine Player: "I'm trying to bring those players back so at least I have what I finished the season with."

The former Leicester manager is yet to make any additions to his squad this summer, but Holloway insists he is sifting through plenty of offers, and said: "I feel like a gold prospector. One of them may be a lump of gold but most won't be."

He continued: "I'm being serious when I say we've had thousands, not hundreds, of players recommended to us by agents.

"But although I need players, I won't be launching myself into the transfer market and making crazy signings of overpaid and overrated players.

"Everyone else has fallen into that trap but I'm not going to.

"I am going to take my time, work with my chairman and try to get some real good people in to help my lads, who were so fantastic last season."

Wigan home fixture switched.

Blackpool's home game against Wigan on the opening day of the Premier League season has been switched to an away match against the same opponents. The move has been made in case Blackpool fail to complete work on upgrading the East Stand at Bloomfield Road by Saturday 14 August.

"This is the only Blackpool fixture that will be affected," said a Premier League statement.

"This decision will give both clubs and fans maximum time to plan accordingly."

Blackpool won the Championship play-off against Cardiff last season to earn promotion and their first season in the top-flight since 1971.

And, despite asking for an away game to start their campaign, they were drawn to play Wigan at home.

"The board felt it was important to take this decision as early as possible if there was any potential for Blackpool FC's stadium not being ready for the first match of the season," said the Premier League statement.

"The board would like to put on record its thanks to both Wigan Athletic FC and Wigan RL [rugby league] whose flexibility in the circumstances has been extremely helpful."

Blackpool will travel to Arsenal on 21 August before the first home game of the season against Fulham on 28 August.

The club's home fixture against Wigan is now scheduled for Saturday 16 April 2011.
