On the playing side Brett Ormerod agreed terms with the club and signed a one-year contract with a further year option and just maybe a shrewd bit of business by Blackpool who have retained a player happy to be here and the fans clearly ecstatic to have him on board for another championship season.

Then in another surprise swoop the club agreed a reduced matchday ticket structure that only leaves Scunthorpe United charging less and surely at last silenced those ranks of supporters that rightly felt that last years hike kept them away from Blomfield Road - so now lets hope they finally return to once again swell the Tangerine ranks.

Finally in Danny Coid's deserved testimonial season it could only be his boyhood team Everton heading to Bloomfield Road to finally give fans a decent pre-season game and at the same time allowing fans to turn up in numbers to show their appreciation to Coidy for his loyal years of service.

Incidently Everton's last meeting with Blackpool in the league at Bloomfield Road on the 19 September 1970 ended in a 2-0 win to the Toffeemen but was also the final time a crowd of over 30,000 squeezed into Bloomfield Road.
