Latics take Nardiello on loan

The Latics are desperate for some additional firepower as they bid to survive relegation and Nardiello is seen as the ideal solution.

The former Manchester United trainee, 27, has won three Wales caps and enjoyed a highly successful loan spell at Bury earlier this season.

He will go straight into Oldham's squad for Saturday's trip to Exeter.

Seasiders boss Ian Holloway believes Nardiello will benefit from his spell at Boundary Park after finding first-team opportunities hard to come by at Bloomfield Road.

Holloway said: "Dan needs to be playing regular first team football at a decent level and letting him go to Oldham will give him that.

"We have a recall after 28 days and we will monitor his progress over the coming weeks."
