Joe Martin who made his league debut for the Seasiders against Watford whilst on loan from Tottenham Hotspur last season today finalised personal terms with the club.

Earlier Tottenham accepted an undisclosed fee from Pool for Martin the son of West Ham star Alvin who came to fans attention following a fine display in the last game of the season aagainst Watford.

Following the loan spell with Blackpool at the end of last season Martin commented after his debut "That last game against Watford was brilliant and something I'll remember for the rest of my life." And adding "To make your debut in a match like that, when there was a sell-out crowd and so much riding on the outcome, was terrific. The manager seemed pretty pleased with how I did and hopefully I can come back here next year and help the club stay up, if not better. It's up to Tottenham whether I come back. They hold all the cards. But if there is a possibility of it happening then I would love to return to Blackpool. I am really glad that Blackpool stayed up because they are a brilliant club."[

Highly rated by Simon Grayson Joe Martin was a part of the Spurs academy and went on to make 21 appearances in the Tottenham reserves.

When originally joining the Seasiders on loan Grayson said of Martin "Not many people know about Joe but he's got good pedigree. He's been at Tottenham, played regularly in their reserves, is left footed and can play anywhere down the left-hand side, as well as midfield and centre-half. He is very hungry to perform and do well here."
