In an unsettling time at Bloomfield Road the news that Maric Manderic has finally appointed ex-Saint supremo Nigel Peason as boss at League One outfit Leicester City will be welcomed by Pool fans.

Mandaric whose spell as Chairman has seen 6 managers come and go at the Walkers Stadium including two former ex-Pool bosses Nigel Worthington and Gary Megson said "I interviewed a number of good candidates but Nigel's drive, passion and overall knowledge of the game was impossible to ignore"

Simon Grayson had been linked alongside Worthington, John Gregory, Paul Lambert and recently Paul Ince to the vacant Leicester City post when Ian Holloway was dismissed following the Foxes disastrous slide into English football's third tier for the first time in their history at the end of last season.

Grayson always maintained a distance from the ongoing speculation stating

"I am fully focused on attracting players here. The fans want me to stay. I am happy here. It's not my priority and not my business."
