Blackpool v Nottm Forest

Last updated : 07 May 2010 By The Seasider

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies will recall several first-team regulars, such as Lee Camp, Chris Gunter and Dexter Blackstock.

Captain Paul McKenna is hoping to play some part for the first time since suffering a knee injury in early March.

MATCH PREVIEW

A run of only one defeat in nine matches saw Blackpool claim the last play-off spot and the chance to claim a place in the top flight for the first time since 1971.

They will want to make home advantage count in the first leg against a Nottingham Forest side that missed out on automatic promotion largely because of their poor away form in the second half of the season.

Blackpool are unbeaten in nine at home, while Forest have not won away since January. All 10 of the Reds' most recent victories have been at the City Ground, where the second leg will take place on Tuesday evening.

Blackpool have enjoyed three previous triumphs in the play-offs, but they have been less kind to Tangerines boss Ian Holloway, who tasted defeat while manager of Bristol Rovers and Queens Park Rangers. He will be hoping for a case of third time lucky.

So too will Forest, who are looking to get back into the Premier League after an 11-year absence. They have twice been in the play-offs but failed to reach the final, losing against Sheffield United in 2003 and Yeovil three years ago.

Forest boss Billy Davies has had his share of play-off agony, losing out with Preston in successive reasons. But he took Derby up in 2007 and is now looking to follow in the footsteps of Brian Clough by leading both East Midlands rivals to the top flight.
