Seasiders stretched for Boro visit

Paul Ince will have a limited squad to choose from once again as Blackpool look to exit their slump against Middlesbrough.

The Seasiders boss has so far been left frustrated in his bid to bring in new loanees after five players - Dan Gosling, Bradley Orr, Tyler Blackett, Nathan Delfouneso and Marvin Zeegelaar - returned to their respective parent clubs.

Defender Kirk Broadfoot will complete his four-match ban , which was given to him after he was sent off for the second time this season against Leeds on Boxing Day.

Isaiah Osbourne is still out with a hamstring injury while fellow midfielder Bobby Grant will be missing again because of a foot problem. Striker Michael Chopra is unlikely to feature after the club fined him for a Twitter outburst this week as Blackpool bid to end a run of seven defeats in their last eight.

Boro boss Aitor Karanka is expected to have Jonathan Woodgate available.

The 33-year-old has missed the last three matches with a thigh strain but he has made good progress in his recovery and could return to action against the Tangerines.

Goalkeeper Shay Given is back in contention after he was ineligible to play in the FA Cup last time out, while defender Kenneth Omeruo, who joined on loan from Chelsea earlier in the week, could make his debut.

Kei Kamara (knee) is unlikely to return at this stage, while Jason Steele (ankle) is definitely out.
